Alopecia Areata in Children and Adults

A virus infection can be countered with vaccines while antibiotics work great with bacteria and funguses but like many kinds of autoimmune disorders, Alopecia Areata is hard to cure because the root of the problem is created by your own body instead of an external factor.

Children with alopecia areata usually grow their back without any treatments. They react very little to their alopecia areata, having very little impact if any. The preschool child is so busy exploring their world, acquiring skills and gaining independence, that his appearance is insignificant to himself and his peers. Between the age of six and twelve, children have gained experience and interacted with enough people to grasp the idea that views of the world differ, and that it is important to pay attention to what others think and feel. While this ability to see things as others do helps children become more empathetic and considerate, it also tends to make children more self-conscious.

Children at this stage of development are much more concerned about how others view them, how they may differ from others, and whether others might be making fun of them. Since children at this age have become so aware of individual differences, they unfortunately are more likely to poke fun at those who don’t’ fit their definition of ‘normal’. Even if a child has had alopecia areata since infancy, he now faces new problems of adjustment. Peers are becoming a more significant part of his life and the desire to ‘fit in’ is becoming stronger. Even a child with a very healthy self-concept may feel threatened. However if a child feels good about herself and has at least one skill she enjoys and is passionate about, the odds are increased that she will deal successfully with these difficulties.

When Alopecia Areata occurs to an adult, situation is little bit different, since adults are more conscious about their self-image. If it occurs that your body is attacked by its own immune system, it often requires more than just medications or other forms of treatment to heal it. Most of the time, the only real way to turn off the disease is by your own body itself. Therefore, if you are suffering from AA, you should need to know your chances and follow only the recommended treatments. The success rates of the treatments vary by individual but here are some statistics:

- Around 75% of people with patchy alopecia Areata within the first year will respond better to treatments. - People who don't respond to treatments after two years are highly unlikely to benefit from any further treatments. - The longer and more serious Alopecia Areata persists, the slimmer the chances of treatments will be. There is no clear way to foresee the outcome of the treatments at all because some people who do not respond to treatments at all can have their hair growing back the soon after while people who respond very well to hair loss treatments might find the disease reoccurring and regressing further.

Why Do Women Experience Hair Loss After Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a wonderful time in a woman's life, but it can take its toll on her body as well. Eating healthy, getting plenty of sleep and taking prenatal vitamins can prevent some of them or at least lessen their impact. One thing that plagues many women that has little to do with a woman's health is hair loss after pregnancy .

Hair normally goes through an anagen cycle, which is the growth phase and telogen, the resting phase. The anagen cycle lasts four to seven years, when you will experience hair growth of about half an inch per month. After the growth period, the hair enters the resting phase, which usually last about three months. Then follows anagen again, growing a fresh hair and pushing the old one out of the follicle, so that it falls out. Some hair follicles can be in telogen all the time, and it is considered normal to lose 50 to 100 hairs a day. Once the baby is born and the pregnancy is eliminated, hormones start to change their course rapidly. You will enter in the telogen phase immediately that lasts for about three months. So after the baby comes into the world, you lose the entire safe and secure hair strands at the same time.

Pregnancy period is an extreme state of stress and since extreme stress has been known to be one of the cause of hair loss it can enhance it. Several mental and physical transitions maybe experienced after pregnancy. This is due to alterations in the woman's body hormone that occurred during the pregnancy period. These alterations vary from woman to woman, depending on the care taken during this period and the body type. Statistics show that about 75% of women experience loss of hair after this period. It is natural to lose some hair after pregnancy. While it isn't something that any woman would like to have happen, it need not be an unexpected surprise, as long as she understands the reasons behind it.

The hormonal situation in a woman's body while she is pregnant keeps the hair in a strong growth phase. This is due to the fact that she is not losing hair that she would normally be losing and so the density of her hair increases during her pregnancy. Not only do you have above average normal hair growth during pregnancy , you also do not lose hair during pregnancy that you normally would.

Taking excellent care of yourself is essential to minimizing hair loss. Not only do you need proper nutrition, but you also need an adequate amount of rest. However, getting plenty of sleep with a new baby in the house is almost impossible, but if you can get a friend or a relative to stay with the baby to give you a few extra hours of sleep, you should try to arrange it. You can also try to rest any time the baby rests.

Marbo Shampoo is effective against hair loss, because it contains herbal ingredients from different medicinal herbs. Active ingredients full of vitamins and mineral salts stimulate local circulation and hair root renewal. Sage and rosemary extracts regulate sebum secretion, prevent scalp greasing and soothe scalp itching and irritation.

Living with Hair Loss – You are not Alone

Alopecia is the loss or the absence of hair. Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disease, which can also involve hair all over the body. In simple terms, the immune system, for unknown reasons, attacks the hair root and causes hair loss. Types of Alopecia :

• Localized Alopecia areata, which is the most common type. This form of alopecia usually presents with round, smooth patches of various sizes of hair loss. The duration of alopecia areata is variable. It may resolve spontaneously within weeks or be recurrent over a lifetime. It may go away on its own, or may last for many years. It can involve any hair-bearing site, including eyebrows, eyelashes and beards. • Alopecia totalis: Loss of all hair on the scalp. Alopecia universalis: Loss of all scalp and body hair.

There are few symptoms associated with alopecia areata. The surface of the nails may appear dull and rough, nails may have tiny dents, ridges or small dents referred to as nail pitting. This does not typically cause any discomfort. Alopecia areata affects approximately 1- 2 percent of the population. This common skin disease is highly unpredictable and cyclical.

Living with alopecia areata can be difficult, especially in a culture that views hair as a sign of youth and good health. However, it is important to remember that more than 4 million people nationwide are living with Alopecia Areata at some point in their lives, so you are not alone. A few things can be done to minimize the physical dangers or discomforts of hair loss, including the use of: caps, wigs, sunscreen, and/or antibiotic ointment as necessary. Alopecia Areata:

• Is not contagious -- children who have the disease are generally healthy, otherwise • Is not a painful disease • Does not make people feel sick, physically • Does not reduce life expectancy • Should not interfere with the ability to achieve such life goals as going to school, working, marrying, raising a family, playing sports, and exercising. On the other hand, the emotional aspects of living with hair loss can be challenging. Many people cope by speaking with others who are facing the same problem, learning as much as they can about alopecia areata, seeking counseling to help build a positive self-image, all in all – feeling that you are not alone. Living with hair loss can be hard, especially in a culture that views hair as a sign of youth and good health. The key to coping is valuing yourself for who you are, not for how much hair you have or don't have.

Marbo Shampoo against hair loss contains herbal ingredients from different medicinal herbs. Active ingredients full of vitamins and mineral salts stimulate local circulation and hair root renewal. Sage and rosemary extracts regulate sebum secretion, prevent scalp greasing and soothe scalp itching and irritation. In case of serious seborrhea dermatitis and dandruff, we recommend using it in combination with Marbo Lotion. The results clearly demonstrated that Marbo Activator is one of the most effective Natural Hair Care products for growing new hair.

Alopecia Incognita

The average scalp contains about 100,000 to 150,000 hair. The normal hair life cycle lasts for 2 to 3 years. At any given point of time, about 90% of the hair on your scalp is growing and about 10% of the hair is in a resting phase. After 2-3 months, the resting hair is shed and new hair starts to grow in its place. It is normal to shed some hair every day. You lose roughly 100 hair strands every day. But, some people may experience more than normal hair loss. Partial or complete loss of hair is called alopecia. There are few types of alopecia, with different areas where is presented.

Alopecia Incognita , also known as diffuse alopecia areata, is a rare form of alopecia areata described predominantly in young women. In cases of alopecia areata incognita, the typical patchy distribution of hair loss in classical alopecia areata is absent, but abrupt and intense hair loss is characteristic. While the clinical picture presented by this disease closely resembles that of telogen effluvium , specific clinical and dermoscopic findings of alopecia areata are invariably present along the disease course.

There are a number of reasons why men start to go bald, but if you are a man between the ages of about 20 to 45 and you start to lose scalp hair, then the chances are 95 per cent certain that you are experiencing male pattern baldness. As the term suggests, male pattern baldness follows a typical sequence or pattern. Hair loss can start in different areas but is usually at the temples and/or on the crown of the head. Initial thinning of hair progresses over a number of years and may lead to total baldness but more typically loss of hair over the top surface of the head.

Two types of genetic hair loss in men, diffuse hair loss and diffuse unpatterned alopecia, pose a significant challenge both in diagnosis and in patient management. Understanding these conditions is crucial to the evaluation of hair loss in both men and women, particularly those that are young when the diagnoses may be easily missed.

Diffuse Patterned Alopecia (DPA) is an androgenetic alopecia manifested as diffuse thinning in the front, top and crown, with a stable permanent zone. Diffuse Unpatterned Alopecia (DUPA) is also androgenetic, but lacks a stable permanent zone and affects men much less often than DPA. Difference between DPA and DUPA is very important because DPA patients often make good transplant candidates, whereas DUPA patients almost never do, as they eventually have extensive hair loss without a stable zone for harvesting.

Specialist physicians in "Marbo Hair" dermatology wards performed over 15,000 screenings of patients who suffered from various types of alopecia. The patients included adults and children and physicians monitored the effect of the Marbo products – Activator, Lotion and Shampoo. The results demonstrated that Marbo Activator is one of the most effective natural hair care products for growing new hair and that its effect is the fastest when applied together with Lotion and Shampoo. The Marbo Hair products earned patients’ trust because of their quality and effects. Marbo products are current the only natural products for hair growth prescribed by physicians.

However, it has a major effect on the human psyche and it’s experienced as a trauma. It can occur at any age, and affects males and females equally. Some people with hair loss experience other forms of the condition: Alopecia totalis: - Affects up to 5% of affected individuals - All scalp hair is lost Alopecia universalis: - Affects less than 1% of cases. - All hair on entire body is lost. Alopecia areata incognita: - Sudden diffuse thinning of scalp hair, - May be confused with telogen effluvium. Nail disease: - Affects 10-50% of those with alopecia areata, - Many nail changes have been described, - Regular pitting and ridging are the most common findings. Having the disease can impact people differently, but there are some well-known experiences among the ones affected. It can be very frustrating and can cause a variety of feelings, like sadness, depression, hopelessness, anger, the need for isolation, fear that others might find out that you have the disease, embarrassment, irrational behavior when searching for a cure, guilt related to the way it affects your family and friends, the feeling that no one understands what you are going through. That’s why people feel enormous relief when they meet someone in the same situation. There are alopecia treatments available, such as: steroids, cortisone injections, oinments and also hair transplantation in the form of strip incisions- small strips of skin with hair are transplanted to the affected area, follicular unit extraction – where grafts of hair follicles are placed into the receptor sites, then mini-micrografting – donor tissue is cut into small pieces, those that contain 1-2 hairs are referred to as micrografts and those that have 3-6 hairs are called minigrafts and at the end there is option of laser grafting - graft receptor sites are made with a laser. Cicatricial – Scaring Alopecia Areata

Cicatricial alopecia refers to a group of rare skin diseases in which hair follicle get destroyed and replaced by scar tissue. It is one of the rare causes of hair loss. Hair loss could be gradual or sudden. Hair loss could be without any symptoms or it could present with sever itching, burning and pain. There is usually no visible scar, because the inflammation is below the level of skin. Cicatricial alopecia could occur in otherwise healthy men and women of all ages. Cicatricial alopecia or scarring alopecia doesn't necessarily mean that you will have ugly welts and scars on top of your head when the hair loss ceases. It simply means that a significant amount of alternation or injury is taking place inside the scalp, causing scar tissue to emerge. When scar tissue emerges, the membranes responsible for reproducing hair cells to replace fallen hair shafts are damaged permanently. The scarring causes the skin outside to appear shinier than usual. Cicatricial alopecia can be classified as primary or secondary. This discussion is confined to the primary cicatricial alopecias in which the hair follicle is the target of the destructive inflammatory process. In secondary cicatricial alopecias, destruction of the hair follicle is incidental to a non-follicle-directed process or external injury, such as severe infections, burns, radiation, tumors, or traction. Cicatricial alopecia can affect both men and women. The majority of patients with cicatricial alopecia have no family history of a similar condition. Central centrifugal alopecia is a type of cicatricial alopecia that is more prevalent among black woman. Frontal fibrosing alopecia on the other hand is seen most commonly in post-menopausal women. Primary cicatricial alopecias are further classified by the type of inflammatory cells that destroy the hair follicle during the active stage of the disease. The inflammation may predominantly involve lymphocytes or neutrophils. Cicatricial alopecias that predominantly involve lymphocytic inflammation include lichen planopilaris, frontal fibrosing alopecia, central centrifugal alopecia, and pseudopelade (Brocq). Cicatricial alopecias that are due to predominantly neutrophilic inflammation include folliculitis decalvans, tufted folliculitis, and dissecting cellulitis. Sometimes the inflammation shifts from a predominantly neutrophilic process to a lymphocytic process. A cicatricial alopecia with a mixed inflammatory infiltrate is folliculitis keloidalis. Scarring alopecia can involve a lot of damage and permanent hair loss. For this reason treatment of scarring alopecia should be quite aggressive. The nature of treatment varies depending on the particular diagnosis. Scarring alopecias that involve mostly lymphocyte inflammation of hair follicles, such as lichen planopilaris and pseudopelade, are generally treated with corticosteroids in topical creams and by injection into the affected skin. In addition, antimalarial and isotretinoin drugs may be used. For scarring alopecias with inflammation of mostly neutrophils or a mixture of cells, the typical treatment involves antibiotics and isotretinoin. Drugs like methotrexate, tacrolimus, cyclosporin, and even thalidomide have been used to treat some forms. Marbo Hair is a very popular supplement for people looking for a natural alopecia cure. This product can be effectively used for loss of all body and facial hair. Using regularly Marbo Activator stimulates new hair growth on thinning scalp and bald regions, while your hair becomes firmer and healthier.

Hair Loss and How to Treat It with Natural Products

Hair disorder is a broad category that can include conditions, such as: - Alopecia, which is the loss or thinning of hair and it can be scarring, in which hair follicles are destroyed, and non-scarring, which can be reversed. - Male pattern baldness (androgenic alopecia): This is the most prominent type of hair disorder affecting, to varying degrees, half of all men over 50 years of age. - Hirsutism: excessive male pattern hair growth affecting 8% of adult women. - Hair shaft disorders: usually hereditary abnormalities. Alopecia areata has multiple causes and is usually a major concern for patients. Androgenetic alopecia, the most common form of alopecia, is related to a variety of genetic and hormonal factors, and it involves a progressive hair thinning that occurs in both men and women. In most cases, hair falls out in small, round patches about the size of a quarter. The disease does not extend beyond a few bare patches in most cases. In some people, hair loss is more extensive. Although uncommon, the disease can progress to cause total loss of hair on the head or complete loss of hair on the head, face, and body. Alopecia areata is just one type of alopecia, others are: - Traction alopecia – a condition that occurs when ponytails or tight braids put so much stress on the hair that it falls out. If this happens repeatedly it can cause scarring and root damage that will prevent hair from growing back. - Cicatricial alopecia – a group of related disorders in which inflammation destroys the hair follicles and replaces them with scar tissue. Also referred to as scarring alopecia, this cause of permanent hair loss is often seen in skin conditions such as discoid lupus erythematosus and lichen planus. - Androgenic alopecia – also called male-pattern or female-pattern baldness, a condition in which the growth phase of the normal hair cycle shortens, making hair more fragile. Over time hairs fall out easily leaving a characteristic pattern of thinning or baldness. - Trichotillomania – a mental condition in which people have an uncontrollable urge to pull out their hair. This can lead to patchy bald spots on the head. - Telogen effluvium – hair loss related to a change in the normal hair cycle. This may be caused by an emotional shock – such as the death of a loved one – or physical shock, such as high fever, illness or surgery. Hair disorders are accompanied by the following signs and symptoms, depending on the type. Non-scarring alopecia involves hair loss all over or in circular areas: a receding hair line, broken hairs, a smooth scalp, inflammation, and possibly loss of lashes and eyebrows. Scarring alopecia is limited to particular areas. Symptoms are inflammation at the edge and follicle loss toward the center of lesions, violet colored skin abnormalities, and scaling. Herbs are generally a safe way to strengthen and tone the body's systems. Marbo Hair collection is 100 % natural. All products are made of pure herbal extracts, so they have strong effect and quick results, which is proven through twenty years dermatological practice. Marbo Activator is 100% natural formula for treatment of disease Alopecia Areata. Marbo Activator can be effectively used for loss of all body and facial hair.

Dugi periodi upotrebe aktivatora nisu rezultirali neželjenim efektima.
